What is Ash Creek?

AshCreek is an apocalyptic-based group set in the small city of Ash Creek during not the first, but a second outbreak of undead . Group members create characters that take part in the fight for survival against the zombie outbreak. It's mostly a roleplay based group with some art assignments. With factions spread throughout the city, each person fights for their life against both the undead and other survivors.

Where you come in:

You are a survivor. You are expected to, well....survive.
You fight against the infected friends and family you once knew, as well as the living enemies only looking forward to your death. Merely for the fact that they want your supplies and one less mouth to feed. Special versions of infected have been introduced, adding even more twists and turns to the already difficult task of survival.

How do I join?_{First and foremost, the actual chat rooms for Ash Creek have moved to Discord. Please join us there to make communication during the application process simple
discord.gg/sjtyAkx . Once you have joined, fill out the application which can be found here fav.me/dc4uipf . Be as descriptive as you can and fill out all the information . You can either submit it to the Character Introductions channel in Discord, or submit it here. A moderator will be in touch with you if your application has been approved to join the group in RP activities.}

Can I be a Mod?_{We are not currently looking for mods at this moment, but the occasion may arise. Being a moderator involves having to manage the the stronghold you are in charge of as well as the members/characters residing there. Being in the chat rooms a decent amount and being readily available to help other members is a must. Also, input and suggestions on events/assignments are also part of the position.

Mod Conduct: This is very important. A moderator represents the group, and as such, they must act accordingly. Moderators are expected to treat our members fairly and not act in a way that creates disputes or upset within the group. If a mod becomes a source of too much negative group drama, they will lose their position and become a normal member.

Is this group for everyone?_{Our group, at the moment, is open any time for people to submit applications and join. We are looking for members who show interest and enthusiasm for the group, get along well with others, and put effort into creating interesting characters. We do expect a certain caliber of either literary or artistic work (preferably both), but we aren't expecting perfection. If your application does not meet our approval, we usually work with you until it is at a level that we accept.}

What is this group about?_{In the most basic sense: surviving and coping with the situation of being alive during a zombie apocalypse. You'll have to find a place for your character to stay, a place that will accept them and keep them safe. Food and clean drinking water is essential as well and continuously growing scarce by the minute--they'll need that, too. And, of course, zombies. The infected, both your average walker as well as a few "special" mutated breeds roam the streets of Ash Creek with an undying hunger for...well...you. Figuring out ways to either avoid them or fend them off is a key to surviving this ordeal. The living aren't always a safer bet, but finding a few allies may not hurt. Good luck.}

Where is Ash Creek located? What is the climate like?_{Ash Creek is a fictional Canadian city located in the province of Ontario. It's in the south-eastern portion, residing within the Eastern Great Lakes lowland forest ecoregion. Summers are warm to hot, humid. Winters are cold with an abundance of snow. Precipitation is fairly well-distributed for the most part.}

Can I be anything other then human?_{No. This is supposed to be based on realism. We are all human. Deal with it.}

Can my characters have pets?_{No. Not unless specifically given permission to do otherwise by a Mod.}

But I have seen other people that have had pets; why can't mine? _{Because it's highly unlikely that every single survivor residing within Ash Creek has managed to do so while simultaneously supporting another creature's survival as well. And if we allowed pets openly, then almost everyone would likely have one. That's ridiculous. Honestly, a pet would make things harder. Just like a baby, you'd have to make sure they were safe, fed, not bitten, didn't make noise, and didn't run off. Also, you'd have to make sure they didn't feed off of infected bodies or attack infected if provoked because they can be infected as well. So, no. Pets aren't allowed openly. You have to gain permission. Dogs and cats and the like are unlikely enough, but you may get permission to do so. Rarer creatures, like horses or wild animals, are almost a definite 'NO' unless a convincing reason is given.}

Is there an age limit for characters?_{Right now, no. If you can give a rational explanation for why your character has managed to survive at whatever age they are, we usually accept it. But, please, use your smarts. It's highly unlikely for a five-year-old character or someone who's ninety to survive in these conditions.}

My character is pregnant. Can my character have a baby?_{No. Dear god, no. Sorry, but we had multiple pregnancy situations years ago and it's just ridiculous. Zombes + Pregnant Ladies = Bad Times. Survival is hard enough without being pregnant, giving birth, and raising a baby. If you want to have your character get pregnant and raise a baby in the zombie apocalypse, we won't stop you, but it will be considered non-canon for the group. We will not allow submissions containing it. If you try to weasel in a baby into rp's, we will likely kill it. We're horrible people, we know.

The only exception to this is BB and her baby because she had it before we created this rule.}

How many characters are we allowed?_{Moderators: 3
Members: 2
No two characters can have the same faction and/or stronghold. As in no having both your characters medics or having them both staying in the prison.}
